The Buffalo Sabres, along with the Vancouver Canucks, assembled NHL in station 1970-71. The first owners of the SABRE were Seymour and Northrup Knox, scions of a family wishes prominent in western New York. The name of the equipment was chosen using a competition of the ventilator. The Knoxes had twice tried before to be able to a NHL equipment, first when NHL was extended in 1967, and later without success trying to buy seals of Oakland with the attempt to move them to the buffalo. At the time of their creation, the Buffalo Sabres exercised their option to create their own equipment of the AHL farm, the swords of Cincinnati. The buffalo had been of length hotbed for the hockey, with the bisons of the buffalo being the one of the pillars of the American league of the hockey, winning cup of Calder in its final year before rendering to the SABRE.
